Bihar govt. has launched a special drive to enrol children in schools.Teachers of bridge courses who have been specially hired for the job, will also keep track of the children newly enrolled in regular schools.
As of now there are an estimated 22 lakh children between the age of six and 14 years in Bihar alone who do not attend school. In the rest of the country, there are about 110 lakh children out of school. Last month, a special Vidyalay Chalo Abhiyan (let us go to school) was launched to not only intercept children who are out of school but to also mainstream them into regular schools. The campaign, which was launched in the second week of January this year, has already introduced 25,000 children to special bridge courses meant to bring them on par with children studying in regular schools.
In another development it is reported that Amitabh Bachchan is likely to shoot for his make-up man Deepak Sawant’s Bhojpuri film ‘Ganga’ starring Ravi Kishen and Nagma in the lead.
Confirming the news, Deepak who has been with the Big B for almost the last three decades said Bachchan would shoot for the film for five days in Film City. “I have already shot 80 per cent of my film in London and other places in India. Amitji will play a positive role of a Thakur in the film, which is being directed by Abhishek Chaddha – a leading man- turned director in Bhojpuri films”.
Not bad at all for a start…I’m sure this will go a long way in giving some credibility to the works of Bhojpuri Film Industry.
